Where I'm Coming From

Thank you for visiting my page! If you've come this far, let me provide some transparency on who I am and what I'm about...

My name is Chris Vaughan and I live in New York City. Long before I worked in the financial markets, I grew up in South Jersey, about 20 minutes from Philadelphia, and was raised by a single mother. She worked incredibly hard to provide for me and my sister, and while it wasn't always easy for us, my upbringing provided me perspective on how resource access can impact a person's life.

After losing my father (Chris Vaughan Sr.) at a young age, this perspective was given new meaning and increasingly underpinned my motivations - I wanted to understand how resources are allocated (i.e. economics) and how this impacts our society more broadly, beyond just the individual. With this interest, I went to college, studied finance and information sciences, and managed to land a job on Wall Street.

During my time working directly in the financial markets, I:

  • Sold fixed income securities (basically followed markets all day… imagine a trading floor)

  • Lead solutions architecture initiatives (problem-solving was literally my job)

  • Worked on multinational data systems (with certifications across AI, blockchain, and cloud-related concepts)

  • Formally taught economics and tech to dozens (in both academic and professional contexts)

Throughout all of this, systematically breaking down "how things work" was a differentiating factor in my career. I love learning about the world, and I want to share that learning with you. How do I plan to do this? Read below for a snippet.

What I'm Doing

I will seek to use whatever professional and lived experience I have to help us process and get through the flood of events that we face each and every day. Via my media platform and Wall Street Radical (my daily livestream where I discuss life, politics, economics, and whatever I feel like chatting about) I hope to shift attitudes and help pave a way forward.

Why is this necessary?

  1. Our Discourse is Broken: Consider the following... you exist in a post-McCarthy society which has experienced decades of Cold War rhetoric... do you really believe that this has had no significant impact on our ability to constructively discuss our society? Our conversation on economics and politics is in the gutter, and I'm sick of it.

  2. Similar Perspectives Are Inaccessible: Those with professional backgrounds similar to my own are often obligated to use their expertise only in the scope of their employment. I suffer no such obligation.

  3. Incentives Matter: I have no shareholders. I am not legally bound to a profit motive. The change I hope to affect is predicated upon my ability to reshape perspectives, capture public interest, and organize a community around it.

  4. We Can Do So Much Better: You are not crazy… material conditions are worsening. The operative cause of this is not DEI, or trans people, or immigrants, as many would have you believe - the operative cause is the way our resources are allocated.

Basically, I could never shut up about the issues above, so I've decided to make a career out of it.

And I am just getting started.

How To Support My Work

I can't do this alone - none of us can. If you would like to help advance my work, here is what I need:

  • Content Collaborations & Partnerships: Contact me for projects, collabs, co-streaming, literary agency, production/mod-work, advisement, or for speaking engagements. Aside from economic commentary, I am particularly open to content related to fitness, fashion, and travel.

  • Expertise & Feedback: There's a lot cookin and I am only one person. Feel free to reach out if you believe your perspective or work could be of use!

  • Financial Contributions: I need to make this work sustainable… Twitch subscriptions, streaming gifts, and BuyMeACoffee donations make the largest impact. If you cannot support financially, please follow, subscribe, and interact with my content!

Thank you for your time and support.

Now let's do this thing.
